Committee on Women’s Rights, Minutes of the 3 December 2021 Meeting :
The second meeting of the four-year period, 2020-2024, of the Committee on Women's Rights of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM) was held in virtual format on 3 December 2021, chaired by Ms. Yana Ehm. It was attended by delegations from the European Parliament and the Parliaments of
Algeria, Egypt, Italy, Malta, Portugal and Turkey. Chair Ehm introduced the agenda, which the Committee adopted. The minutes of the 8 November 2021 meeting were also adopted. Turning to the item for the adoption of the draft Recommendation on 'Climate Change and Gender Policies', the Chair thanked the parliamentarians for submitting their
amendments, which had provided useful and constructive contribution. For this very reason, she had decided to accept almost all of them, incorporating them into a compromise text that had been forwarded to the delegates in advance of the meeting. Of the 37 amendments tabled, 21 had been accepted in full, while 6 were accepted in part.
The Chair then put the draft recommendation to the vote, which was unanimously adopted by the Committee.
The Chair adjourned the meeting.
